About Amy

I am often asked how long I have been a photographer,  and the answer is always “forever!”  For as long as I can remember, I have been photographing the world as I see it.  My professional career started in 1993 when I joined a national studio.  The amount of professional training I received in their studio was amazing!  Later as I started having babies, they were the best-allowing me to work my schedule around my family’s.  As much as I enjoyed the studio,  in 2007, I started to get cabin fever.  Working in a 10×10 space was really starting to limit my creativity and I was longing to be outside, photographing this amazingly beautiful city that I live in.   The Lord has truly blessed me by allowing my family  to live in Raleigh, NC.   We are surrounded by parks, lakes, universities, gardens, downtown areas, historical districts,  urban areas, suburban areas..the list just goes on!

My style is very relaxed and I always make sure my clients have a lot of  fun!!  I know that the “rules” say that I have to choose what type of  photographer I’m supposed to be, but I tend to be a bit of a rule breaker.  I enjoy all types of photography that involve people!  As much as I can enjoy the mountains,  its just a mountain to me, but if you put a family in front of that mountain, I’m one happy photographer.  Landscape photography is truly not my cup of tea-and I’m ok with that!  I believe in people, in the fact that everyone has beauty and light inside of them, and that its my privilege to bring it out in them.

I am a wife and a mother to 4 of the most beautiful children you have ever seen!  We have one puppy-Angle-who is not so much an angel!  My life is full and filled with love and joy.  I am truly living my life to the fullest!
